Ports from Virginia to New York have closed facilities Monday 10/29 in anticipation of Hurricane Sandy’s landfall. Ports will remain closed until further notice.

Possible strike on the horizon for East Coast ports as longshoremen’s contract expires at the end of September. New round of negotiations scheduled for the week of September 17. Some businesses are already deciding to route their goods to other ports in anticipation.

07/18/12 Effective Aug 1, 2012 the Pier Pass fee will increase to $61.50/20ft and $123/40ft container.
